At the Hellenic Growth Forum, held at the Pavilion of the Hellenic Growth Fund at the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), GEP’s General Manager, Alexandros Sofianopoulos, highlighted the pivotal role of Occupational Health & Safety (OSH) as a fundamental pillar of business resilience and sustainable growth.
Speaking on the panel “Turning ESG into Business Value”, he emphasised that Health and Safety goes beyond the boundaries of mere compliance. With the right use of data and technology, it becomes a strategic prevention tool, enabling the timely management of risks and more effective protection of people.
He also highlighted the importance of integrating the social pillar of ESG into corporate strategy, as it helps strengthen the trust of employees, partners and investors. As he characteristically stressed, “investing in Health and Safety is, in essence, investing in people”.
The discussion, moderated by journalist Faidra Mavrogiorgi (ESG Stories), also featured Pakis Papadimitriou (AmCham Greece), Alexandros Floros (Euronext), Efi Lazaridou (Nea Georgia Nea Genia) and Evgenia Mavrou (Hellenic Growth Fund).
