The Greek legislation is harmonized with the European Directive SEVESO III (2012/18/EC) through the Joint Ministerial Decree 172058/2016 (Government Gazette 376 B’), concerning the prevention and management of Major Industrial Accidents in installations with hazardous substances.
The operators of such installations are obliged to submit:
- A Notification File with a description of the installation, a list of hazardous substances and an assessment of a possible Domino Effect.
- A Safety Study evaluating the Safety Management System, accident scenarios and protective measures.
According to Article 8 of Presidential Decree 42/2003, the employer is obliged to draw up and update the Document for Protection from Explosion.
