  1. Workers at height

For workers on roofs, platforms, portable ladders, scaffolding and motorized lifting work-platforms.

  • Requirements: Good physical condition
  • Duration: 1 day (8 hours)

The purpose of the training course is for workers to be able to work safely after their training, against falling from a height of roofs and platforms without protective railings, portable ladders, scaffolding, motorized lifting work-platforms and permanent vertical ladders, as well as to be able to rescue a colleague in case of emergency.

  1. Wind Turbine Rope Access Technicians GWO

For workers on wind turbines.

  • Requirements: Good physical condition
  • Duration: 2 days (16 hours)
  • Duration of retraining: 1 day (8 hours)

The purpose of the training is for workers to be able to work safely after their training, against falling from a height on wind turbine pylons. They will be expected to use the means of wind turbines and their structural elements for progression, securing and reaching a working position with free hands, as well as to be able to escape from a wind turbine, or to rescue a colleague in case of emergency.

2.1 Rope Access Technicians IRATA – Level 1

For workers in tall structures or confined spaces with difficult access, telecommunications pylons, electricity pylons, tall trees, roofs or platforms without protective railings, etc.

  • Requirements: Very good physical condition
  • Duration of training: 5 days (45 hours)

The aim of the training is for workers to be able to work safely after their training, against falling from a height in many different work environments with difficult access using ropes (IRATA rope-work method). Workers will be able for progression, belay, reaching a work position with free hands, lowering loads and rescuing a colleague in case of emergency.

2.2. Rope Access Technicians IRATA – Level 2.

  • Requirements:
    • At least 12 months of experience and 1,000 hours of work experience at level 1
    • Very good physical condition
  • Duration of training: 5 days (45 hours)

The aim of the training is for workers to be able to work safely after their training, against falling from a height in many different work environments with difficult access using ropes (IRATA rope-work method). Workers will be able for progression, belay, reaching a work position with free hands, lifting / lateral transportation / lowering loads and rescuing a colleague in case of emergency.

2.3. Rope Access Technicians IRATA – Level  3.

  • Requirements:
    • At least 12 months of experience and 1,000 hours of work experience at level 2
    • First Aid Certified skills
    • Very good physical condition
  •  Duration of training: 5 days (45 hours)

The aim of the training is for workers to be able to work safely after their training, against falling from a height in many different work environments with difficult access using ropes (IRATA rope-work method). Workers will be able for progression, belaying, reaching a work position with free hands, lifting / lateral transportation / lowering loads and rescuing a colleague in an emergency (required by law). They should also be able to provide solutions to complex access problems, draft all necessary safety and health documents and for exercising supervision and guidance to Rope Access Technicians of Levels 1 and 2.

Custom Made Training

It concerns specialized training purposed for specific work environments. The training course is designed in collaboration with the trainees according to their work needs, and with the people responsible for the workers safety.

The purpose of the training is for workers to be able to work safely after their training, against falling from a height in their work environment and to rescue a colleague in the event of an emergency.

Specialized services for the protection from falling, of workers at height

  1. Inspection of workplaces at height by experienced, certified, rope access technicians
  2. Preparation of studies for safe work at height, that include:
  • The work performed, the means of access to the workplaces and the targeted workplaces
  • Risk assessment of a falling from a height and the measures required
  • Rescue plan
  1. Supply, installation and certification of fall protection systems (anchors, lifelines, fall protection nets, etc.)
  2. Inspection of fall protection systems
  3. Inspection of personal equipment for protection from falling

Certificate

Trainees are provided with a technical training manual with all the information. After completing the training, a certificate of proficiency is granted, valid for 3 years (their retraining is obligatory if within a 6-month period, the rope access technicians do not practice the techniques for safe working at height and the rescue of colleagues, for which they were trained). In parallel and for the legal protection of those involved, a file is maintained with all the evidence documentation of the training.
