Objectives

GWO First Aid is a specialized training program that provides the necessary skills for the safe and effective provision of First Aid in the challenging conditions in wind turbines. The training is designed to meet the emergency response requirements, according to the GWO Basic Safety Training (BST).

  • Safe incident assessment
  • Recognition of critical symptoms and dangerous situations
  • Effective communication for immediate assistance
  • Proper provision of First Aid, until the arrival of specialized medical support

GEP trainers are certified GWO Instructors, accredited by the European Resuscitation Council (ERC); they are offering training, which combines theoretical knowledge with practical training.

Why GEP

GEP experienced GWO instructors are certified Instructors by the European Resuscitation Council (ERC). They ensure that in each seminar the trainees are prepared to deal with a real incident. This achievement is accomplished by strengthening trainees’ self-confidence through adequacy of knowledge, and by putting emphasis on the practical training adapted to the specific needs of the sector.

One of the main advantages of the GEP GWO First Aid training courses is the unique opportunity for the trainees to apply their knowledge in realistic simulation scenarios. High-fidelity models and conditions are used, not differing from the authentic workplace. Thus, the trainees are brought as close as possible to the real experience of providing first aid in the wind turbine installation.

GEP implements the following seminars:

  • Basic Safety Training
  • Basic Safety Training Refresher
  • Enhanced First Aid Training
  • Enhanced First Aid Refresher
