Whistleblowing – Law 4990/2022

Law 4990/2022 on Whistleblowing aims to establish a system for internal and external reporting of breaches of the EU law. The law protects people reporting such breaches and organizes the procedure for submitting, receiving and following up on reports. At the same time, it provides sanctions for its breaches and encourages employees to file complaints through secure and confidential procedures, providing strong support measures for them.

The breaches covered by the law include issues such as public procurement, financial services, product and transport safety, environmental protection, health and safety of foodstuff and feed, protection of personal data, nuclear safety, public health, as well as breaches affecting the EU’s financial interests and the internal market.

Why GEP

In the framework of its strategy to protect the rights and interests of its associates, GEP develops and implements whistleblowing policies in accordance with the provisions of Directive (EU) 2019/1937 and Law 4990/2022.

Whistleblowing Policy Drafting: We design and implement the policy for the protection of people reporting violations of European law, ensuring compliance with the relevant legislation
Report Management Process: We ensure timely and responsible assessment of reports, and the enhancement of transparency and ethics maintenance in the company
Officer for Reporting Service: GEP undertakes the assignment of an Officer Responsible for Receiving and Monitoring of Reports, working either from within the organization or through a third party, ensuring full compliance with Greek legislation
Reporting Platform (ISO 27001 -compliant): We provide a secure electronic platform that enables the submission and monitoring of reports, based on the requirements of the legislation
Employee Training and Awareness: We provide training to inform employees about the importance of the whistleblowing service and its benefits, strengthening the values of transparency and ethics in the workplace
