World Cancer Day once again focuses on equal access to care, which will be achieved when every individual has the opportunity to fully utilize their health potential and receive care for cancer, without barriers or restrictions created by social status and, primarily, economically determined conditions.
Occupational Cancer
The types of occupational cancer largely depend on the level and duration of exposure, the potency of carcinogenic factors, and other factors that act synergistically, such as smoking. Their appearance usually occurs after a long latent period. Data on occupational cancer in Greece is relatively limited; however, it is estimated to account for 4-6% of all cancer-related deaths.
